Taken Movie Review – Out now on DVD and Blu-ray
Liam Neeson plays a retired goverment spy who is extremely over-protective of his 17 year old daughter. When he reluctantly allows her to go to Paris on a holiday with her friend his worst nightmare as a father comes true.
This film reminded me of the bourne films and the action scenes are sure to blow you away. I found myself cheering him on as he goes on a destructive rampage to track down his daughter’s kidnappers.
It is definately a film to watch if you liked the Bourne films. However this guy makes Matt Damon look like a sissy and if they were to go mono-e-mono (one on one) Matt Damon would not last a minute.
I give this film

Death Race Review – Out now on DVD and Blu-ray
Jason Statham is the man!
This film makes all the Transporters (I think there are about 12 of them now) and Crank look like something out of play school.
**Note** It has to be watched on a huge screen with a huge surround sound set-up which is loud enough to drown out the extremely poor acting and cheesy undertones.
I must say I wasn’t expecting much at all from this movie but it definitely exceeded what I had in mind when I first glanced at the DVD cover.
If you are into prison flicks, car chases/races, more car chases, cars blowing up other cars, cars blowing up buildings, or just cars with rockets and machine guns hanging off them, then this is certainly a winner.
Jason Statham has a knack of making the corniest and cheesiest of lines sound cool. It is an art which he has perfected over the years and I hope he continues to utilise it in his films for years to come.
If you want to watch a serious film – do not watch this.
If you want to watch a film that has you on the edge of your seat, while cringing when you see a man’s head getting blown off, and laughing your own head off at the same time then… – Watch this!
I give this movie

Body of lies Review – Out Now on DVD and Blu-ray
Let me start by saying Leo DiCaprio is an awesome actor. Where the hell was his Oscar nomination this year? Well, maybe he didn’t exactly deserve one for this film but any actor that can go from being a South African diamond chaser in Blood Diamond to an American posing as an Arab (who speaks Arabic well enough to pass as a local but has a terrible excuse for a beard) surely deserves something!
This film is definately one to watch if you are into action packed espionage, huge explosions and of course, fighting the war against terrorism. I enjoyed this film so much that I googled C.I.A surveillance as soon as it ended.
There is only one downer in the film…. Enter, Russell Crowe.
Don’t get me wrong, I thought he was great in American Gangster but there is something about his on screen presence (especially in this film) that just makes me want to throw a hotel room phone at his head.
All in all, this was an excellent movie and one I would recommend to anyone to get a better understanding of what not only terrorists, but also the C.I.A are capable of.
I give this film

Marly and Me Cover Art
Marly and Me Movie Review
The start of this film had me laughing in joy with Owen Wilson’s antics with his puppy (instead of his usual tag-along – Ben Stiller). This brought back my own experiences with my pets and continued pretty much through the entire film. The couple (Owen Wilson & Jennifer Aniston) learn to deal with their ever growing lives and the dramas surrounding them.
It was all very fun and laughable, until the later part of the film which left me remembering about the real story – life and death. Still enjoyable, although not the comedy genre I originally thought it would be.
Our Verdict –
